Calais Malik Campbell is his full name, and he was born on September 1st, 1986 in Denver, Colorado, to a large family. He has a lot of siblings. He comes from a large African American family and is one of eight children. Charles Campbell is his father’s name, and Nateal Campbell is his mother’s name.

Campbell went to South High School in Denver, Colorado, and it was there that he made his first steps toward a career as a football player. The website Rivals.com ranked him as the tenth best strongside defensive end, and the website Scout.com ranked him as the seventh overall defensive end.

He was First-team All-ACC at Miami in 2006. Campbell joined Miami in 2005. 24 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 3 passes defensed in 11 games. 2006: 55 tackles, 10.5 sacks, 4 passes defensed, 3 caused fumbles. In 2006, he had three games with three sacks.

Campbell signed a $4.84 million, four-year contract with the Cardinals on July 24, 2008. He cofounded CRC Foundation, which teaches children life skills. Campbell was drafted 50th overall by the Arizona Cardinals in 2008. Campbell was drafted sixth in 2008.

Antonio Smith left for the Houston Texans in free agency, thus Campbell was expected to start. Billy Davis switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4 defense.  Campbell missed Week 12’s loss to the 49ers with an ankle injury.

The Cardinals won the NFC Wild Card with a 51–45 overtime win over the Packers (10–6). Campbell had three solo tackles in his first playoff game, a 45–14 loss to the New Orleans Saints on January 16, 2010.  In Week 9, he recorded six solo tackles and two sacks against Rams quarterback Sam Bradford.

2017 was Calais’s highest-earning year overall. Signing a contract netted him $6,000,000 when his average pay was $15,000,000 and his dead cap was $30,000,000. Calais Campbell then signed a 2-year, $25,000,000 contract with the Ravens. Contract contains $10,000,000 signing bonus, $20,000,000 guaranteed, and $12,500,000 yearly compensation.

Five-time Pro Bowler Calais also had some dirty moments in his career. He’s paid multiple fines. Campbell was fined $18,231 for a low hit on Cam Newton on November 4, 2016. Ben Roethlisberger was fined $20,054 on November 23 for roughing the passer.

He paid $21,056 in 2019 for roughing Derek Carr (OAK). On Dec. 20, he paid $10527 for unsportsmanlike behavior against Taylor Lewan.
