Allegedly, Mary Cosby Calls Lisa Barlow’s Son a Derogatory Term During ‘RHOSLC’ Filming
Mary Cosby allegedly called Lisa Barlow’s 12-year-old son, Henry, a derogatory term in the midst of a heated argument while filming for “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 5, exclusive sources informed Page Six.
According to one insider, the offensive remark occurred during a contentious altercation between the women earlier in the month, with Barlow’s fellow cast members Heather Gay, Whitney Rose, Meredith Marks, and Angie Katsanevas reportedly taken aback by Cosby’s involvement in the exchange.
“The entire cast was truly disgusted by Cosby’s alleged use of the slur,” the source revealed.
Another source emphasized that Lisa Barlow, who shares Henry and his elder sibling, Jack, 19, with her husband John Barlow, was deeply upset by Cosby’s alleged insult towards her son.
However, a third source informed Page Six that Lisa and Cosby have since resolved the issue and are currently filming together on a cast trip in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
“They have made amends and are moving forward from the incident,” the insider shared.
The exact reason behind Cosby’s alleged verbal attack on Lisa’s youngest child remains unclear, and it is uncertain if the incident will be shown when “RHOSLC” airs on Bravo.
Representatives for Lisa Barlow, Mary Cosby, and Bravo have been reached out to by Page Six for comments.
Cosby has a history of making controversial comments on camera, such as calling former cast member and convicted fraudster Jen Shah a “Mexican thug” during Season 2 of “RHOSLC” in 2021, before Shah was imprisoned for wire fraud and money laundering. Cosby later apologized to Shah, who is of Tongan and Hawaiian descent, via her Instagram Story.
Following this incident, Cosby came under fire once again for a racially charged jibe towards Season 2 star Jennie Nguyen, who is of Vietnamese descent, when she complimented Nguyen’s “slanted eyes.” Despite criticism, Cosby stood by her remarks, claiming she meant no harm by them.
In addition to her controversial statements, Cosby, who infamously married her step-grandfather, Robert Cosby Sr., has been accused of running her Faith Temple Pentecostal Church like a cult by former parishioners in a 2021 Daily Beast exposé. Allegations included pressuring members to give money to the church while living luxuriously herself and using fear tactics to control them.
Cosby has denied these claims, stating in an interview with “Entertainment Tonight” that there is no cult in her church and the allegations are false and ridiculous.
Having been part of the original “RHOSLC” cast since 2020, Cosby maintained her full-time status through Season 2. After skipping the Season 2 reunion and not participating in Season 3, she returned to the franchise as a “friend of” the cast for Season 4. Her role in Season 5 has not yet been announced.
“The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” can be streamed on Peacock.
