Matt Corral's rookie season may finish before the finals series officially begins.

The Panthers' first-year quarterback was out for the final two series of Carolina's warm - up match even against Revolutionaries on Friday night because to a left stress fracture.

Head coach Matt Rhule informed journalists on Saturday that he has a "severe" Lower leg damage.

He was not in contention to compete for the starting quarterback slot in Week 1 against Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold, although he is viewed as an enduring option that the organization can develop.

If the two quarterbacks ahead of him on the depth chart failed to live up to the hype, there was a chance he'd see action late in the season.

Now, the Ole Miss third-round pick in 2022 will likely focus on recovery before coming to the field in some way in 2023.

He completed 9 of 15 passes for 58 yards in relief of Cam Newton, who had a shoulder injury and was unable to play.

If the Panthers place him on injured reserve in the next days, he will be out for the remainder of the season.

Walker may be the qb to Mayfield or Darnold.

He didn't help himself by passing two touchdowns and fumbled in the goal line on Friday.
