Tish Cyrus Reveals Daughter Noah Lives ‘So Close’ to Her After Reported Rift

Nearly two years after Noah Cyrus and mom Tish Cyrus underwent a rumored rift, they’ve revealed they’re basically neighbors!

On Thursday, April 17, Noah replaced sister Brandi as co-host on the Sorry We’re Cyrus podcast and the mother-daughter duo opened up about how living close to each other has impacted their relationship.

“Noah moved this year,” Tish, 57, said, before Noah, 25, added, “very close to her.”

“That’s been so good for us. Being able to go on our walks and we found our new favorite ice cream truck,” Noah said of Tish.

Since Noah’s move, Tish has also grown fonder of her daughter’s fiancé, German fashion designer Pinkus.

“It’s really cute because my fiancé and my mom are really close,” the “July” singer said. “I love that so much because my past boyfriends my mom has not been close with.”

She continued, “Now I’m with a nice little German man.”

Tish agreed he’s a real “man” — and proceeded to rave about him.

“He is a man. Honestly, it’s one of the things that I love about him,” said Tish.

“I love him so much and honestly… he is a man. He’s so respectful and driven and sweet. Honestly I think he is perfect,” she added. “He is so awesome and I could not be happier that you are with him.”

The “I Burned Down LA” singer added, “Me too.”

Elsewhere in the podcast, Noah — who announced her engagement to Pinkus in June 2023 — said that Tish inspired her desire to marry “early.”

“I always wanted to get married. Like, every relationship I’ve had, I’ve thought about marrying them,” Noah said. “My explanation was always, ‘Well, my mom had her first kid by the time she was 21.’ I don’t think of that as, like, an ‘oopsie age.’ I think of that as, ‘Well, I’ve been working since I was 15. Why couldn’t I have a child when I’m in my early 20s or why couldn’t I get married in my early 20s?’ That was something I really wanted.”

Tish married ex-husband Billy Ray Cyrus in 1993. The exes — who also share daughter Miley, 32, and son Braison, 30 — announced their divorce in 2022. Billy Ray adopted Tish’s two eldest kids, Brandi, 37, and Trace, 36, from a past relationship, and Billy Ray has son Christopher Cody, 33 from a previous relationship.

The mother-daughter podcast episode came nearly two years after their rumored rift that began with Tish’s 2023 marriage to Dominic Purcell, which Noah was not present for.

In March of last year, a source told PEOPLE Noah “was offended” by their union because Noah and Purcell were previously seeing each other in a “friends with benefits way.”

“They stopped seeing each other and then Tish started something up,” the source said. “Tish knew he had been seeing Noah.” 

The month prior, another source told PEOPLE in February 2024 that Noah was sticking by her father Billy Ray‘s side amid their divorce.

“Noah is very loyal to Billy Ray,” the source said. “She and Billy Ray have always had a really close relationship.”
