Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce’s Grammys, Super Bowl losses will ‘make them stronger’

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship will only get stronger in the face of their latest career setbacks.

Licensed relationship therapist Jaime Bronstein exclusively told Page Six Monday that Swift and Kelce “have to lose to appreciate winning” following the pop star’s 2025 Grammys snub last week and his crushing Super Bowl loss Sunday.

“Things were almost too perfect for them, and to be humbled in life, as an individual and as a couple, is a beautiful thing and I believe it will make them stronger,” Bronstein said.

The “Man*ifesting” author noted that the pop star, 35, and Kansas City Chiefs tight end, also 35, may benefit from being tested in their romance after having such a perfect start to their love story.

“If there’s no conflict ever, then it’s a surface relationship. That’s never recommended,” Bronstein said. “It’s a good thing and a normal thing for relationships to be tested.

“To be tested in whatever way it is, is a positive thing because it means both people are showing up as their authentic selves.”

The “Love Talk Live” podcast host emphasized how career success is an important factor for the power couple – but success doesn’t always bring happiness when it comes to relationships.

“Taylor Swift has a lot of money. Travis Kelce has a lot of money. But money doesn’t make everything better,” she said, explaining that “empathy and compassion in a relationship is so crucial.”

Swift’s concerned expression throughout Kelce’s game was a clear sign to Bronstein of her empathy — an integral “ingredient” in a successful partnership.

“These are two human beings that are going through a hard time and Taylor being empathetic toward him is a huge sign that they have the potential to make it in the long run,” she said.

Bronstein suggested that Swift and Kelce should “build each other up” and “show each other unconditional love” to get through the hardships.

“Saying, ‘I love you no matter what,’ is so powerful,” Bronstein shared.

The couples’ coach believes that outside of verbal communication, Swift and Kelce should make sure to physically connect.

“To have that physical time together is so huge and so good for your nervous system,” she said. “Physically being together grounds people.”

And if they are really in a dire place, especially with their relationship so heavily in the spotlight, Bronstein advised that Swift and Kelce can always turn to a professional for help.

“They’re going to rise again, just like everybody does,” Bronstein said. “There’s highs and lows in life. They’re going through a blip and they will both rise again because they’re superstars. They love what they do. They’re both so talented. They’re going to have their ups again.”

In the span of just a week, Kelce and Swift both suffered their first major career losses since striking up their romance in Summer 2023.

Swift was nominated for six awards at the 2025 Grammys, but she left the Feb. 2 event empty-handed. While she didn’t receive any trophies, her nominations alone saw her make history as the first woman to be nominated seven times for album of the year.

A source exclusively told Page Six last week that the singer, a 14-time Grammy winner, didn’t feel at all slighted.

“She didn’t feel snubbed whatsoever and is grateful for an incredible year, the journey she’s had with the Eras Tour and being on the road with all her fans,” the insider said, adding that she “feels honored to have been nominated among so many other incredibly talented artists.”

The award show shut-out highly contrasted with the previous year when she won two Grammy awards for “Midnights.”

Kelce gushed about Swift’s double win at the time, saying at a press conference, “She’s unbelievable, she’s rewriting the history books herself.”

“I told her I’ll have to hold up my end of the bargain and bring some hardware too,” the “New Heights” podcast host added, referring to a Super Bowl ring. “Taylor has an unbelievable fan base that follows her and supports her throughout her life and it’s been fun to gather the Swifties and the Chiefs Kingdom and open them to the football world and sports world and it’s been cool to just experience that.”

Just days later, the couple was celebrating yet again when Kelce helped lead the Chiefs to win the 2024 Super Bowl against the San Fransisco 49ers.

Swift raced to the field and gave the tight end a celebratory kiss under the falling confetti and they continued the PDA at a late-night afterparty.

The victory even inspired several lyrics in her 2024 song, “The Alchemy,” in which she sings about a “winning streak” and includes the lyrics, “Where’s the trophy? / He just comes running over to me.”

This year’s Super Bowl ended with far less excitement for the lovebirds after the Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in a humiliating 40-22 defeat.

Kelce was spotted looking forlorn while on his way to meet up with Swift at her suite after the blow.

The athlete remained stone-faced while congratulating members of the winning team including Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts and Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert.

Meanwhile, Swift was spotted with a concerned expression when she watched the Chiefs start losing to the Eagles from her star-studded Suite at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

Tough times aside, Bronstein has no doubt that Swift and Kelce will only fall deeper in love if they have “the willingness to work through it.”

“If they can do that and if they can still have the confidence to love themselves, they can 100 percent get through this,” Bronstein said.
