Sam Hunt and Wife Hannah Lee Fowler Expecting Third Baby Together

Sam Hunt is going to be a dad again!

The country singer, 39, is expecting his third baby with wife Hannah Lee Fowler, sharing the news on Audacy’s Katie & Company podcast. “It’s about to get real,” he said, revealing Fowler is pregnant and expecting their third baby in May. “I’m elated, can’t wait!”

Hunt shared that the couple’s oldest, 2½-year-old daughter Lucy Louise, doesn’t totally understand that she’s getting a baby sibling, but is excited nonetheless.

“We talk about. I say, Mama has a baby on the way and we’ll point to her belly and she says, ‘No, I have a baby on the way,’ ” Hunt said, laughing.

As he gets ready to release new music, Hunt shared that he’s not planning on going on tour since he wants to spend more time with his family.

“I’m hopefully — in the next couple years — going to take a break from touring,” he said. “The crowds have been so great and I want to get out there and tour while my kids are really young and they’re able to come with me…and while people are interested in coming to see us because I don’t want to take that for granted.”

Hunt’s exciting news comes a year after the couple welcomed their baby son Lowry Lee. A rep for Hunt confirmed to PEOPLE exclusively at the time that he and Fowler had welcomed a baby boy named Lowry Lee on Tuesday, Oct. 24.

Their second baby’s names were derived from his parents’ — Lowry is Hunt’s middle name and Lee is Fowler’s.

A week prior, the country star announced the arrival of their second baby with a photo of his newly minted family of four on Instagram, simply captioning the post, “Thank You Lord.”

That previous spring, a rep for the couple confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair were expecting their second baby together after the musician announced the exciting news at his Las Vegas concert at Resorts World Theatre.

Hunt previously announced that he and his wife had welcomed their first baby together during his set at the Stars for Second Harvest charity concert in Nashville in 2022.

“[Fatherhood] has given me such a sense of purpose — at home and out on the road. A new appreciation for life in general,” he said on Audacy’s Katie & Company podcast in September 2022. “I think I leveled up overnight, evolved 10 or 20 years overnight.”
