Rihanna regrets this early aughts fashion trend she wore on repeat

Even Rihanna has some style regrets.

In a TikTok interview with @mysteryfashionist, the Fenty Beauty founder reflected on a particular look she wore more than once while first entering the spotlight in the early aughts.

“What’s a fashion trend you regret participating in?” Porter asked Rihanna.

She responded, “Dear God. Why you gotta bring up old s—t.”

While the interviewer suggested that others have lamented pairing sweatpants with high heels, the mom of two, 36, fought back.

“The f—k. I would never regret that, especially now as a mom. A heel is the best thing I could do for my f—g pajamas,” she asserted.

RiRi then addressed his initial question, saying, “When I first started and I was wearing the baggy jeans with the panties out. What the f—k was I thinking, bro.”

He chimed in, noting, “People still be doing that nowadays.”

“That’s for them,” the A-lister said. “That is for them. I can’t wear it for the evolution. It’s called growth y’all.”

“Belts, no panties,” she sayed as she shows off her layers of black leather belts above the waistline of her pants.

Earlier in the clip, when asked to rate her current outfit from 1 to 10, the “Diamonds” singer gave it a 10.

Rihanna, who is spending the holidays in New York, paired the outerwear with black Saint Laurent trousers, a brown furry Gucci bag and pointed snakeskin boots.

When asked about the five fashion items she can’t live without, Rihanna pointed to her New York Yankees hats, baggy jeans, fitted vintage jeans and, of course, her Savage X Fenty underwear.

She also revealed she would sell all her purses for Louis Vuitton’s Speedy monogram bag ($2,070), which was also a staple in the early 2000s. “Amazing,” she described the look.

This isn’t the first time the Bad Gal has reflected on some of her past red carpet looks.

In April, at a Fenty X Puma shoe release event, the fashion and beauty mogul told British Vogue that there are some revealing looks she once dared to wear that she now regrets.

After the outlet asked Rihanna what her fashion ick is, she responded, “I did so much s—t in my life. I had my nipples out, I had my panties out.”

“But now those are the things, I guess, as a mom, as an evolved young lady … it’s just things that I just feel like I would never do,” she further explained.

“And I’m just like, ‘Oh my god, I really did that? nips out?’”

We love the way she continues to push boundaries as she ages.
