Kevin Jonas Is Finally Getting Some ‘Clout’ with Daughter Alena (Exclusive)

The whole pop star thing is finally working in Kevin Jonas’ favor — at least where his 11-year-old daughter Alena is concerned. 

The father of two, who shares daughters Alena and Valentina, 8, with wife Danielle Jonas, opened up about how his older daughter’s opinion of his job has changed recently. 

“Clout is starting to happen with my older one,” Kevin, 37, tells PEOPLE at JonasCon on Sunday, March 23, at the American Dream mall in New Jersey. “She’s like, ‘Dad, can I get a box for the show on the 10th?’“

Kevin’s brother, Joe Jonas, adds that he’s seen Alena’s adoration in action, noting, “I saw her yesterday showing her friends on FaceTime stuff that she shouldn’t be showing them yet.”

That’s par for the course for Kevin, who replies, “Yeah, exactly. So she’s at that age now. She’s a pre-teen.” 

And how does Kevin respond to his daughter’s requests? 

“She’s like, ‘Dad, can I get my own box [to] invite my friends to the show on the 10th?’ I was like, ‘I’ll see what I can do for you, babe,’ “ Kevin says with a laugh. “So yeah, we’re at that point. But it’s exciting. I love it.” 

Kevin adds, “I’m proud to be their dad, number one, but the fact that they’re proud of me and us, it’s great.”

The Jonas Brothers are preparing to go on their Living the Dream Tour with Marshmello, The All-American Rejects and Boys Like Girls starting Aug. 10 and running through Nov. 14.

They will be kicking off the tour at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, a dream come true for the Jersey-raised brothers. 

“It’s incredible,” Kevin says. “Growing up down the street and seeing this place, coming to a million Giants games, and even starting early and going to Continental Airlines Arena back in the day, it’s just like this is home for us. So to play this venue, it’s about damn time.”
