Gavin Rossdale Spends the Holidays with Jack McBrayer Following Divorce

Gavin Rossdale‘s holiday table keeps an extra place setting for an unexpected guest.
During a March 18 appearance on Dinner’s on Me with Jesse Tyler Ferguson, the Bush frontman revealed that since his divorce from Gwen Stefani, he’s been spending the holidays with his “really good friend” Jack McBrayer.
“I’ll give you a fun insight to Jack,” Rossdale, 59, told Ferguson, 49. “Since I got divorced and was raising the kids on my own, he’s come to every Christmas and Thanksgiving that I do with my kids.”
“We just had him for Christmas, we had him for Thanksgiving, and he, the last Thanksgiving, he sent in — I posted it on my Instagram a little while ago — but he sent me an invoice.”
Rossdale added that the bill was for his “presence.”

McBrayer appeared on Rossdale’s WatchFree+ cooking show Dinner with Gavin Rossdale, which also featured Serena Williams, Common and Selma Blair.
Rossdale also mentioned that the 30 Rock actor, 51, had been helping him with auditions. However, the musician hasn’t gotten a gig just yet.
“I’ve been to all the different shows. I’ve been trying to move. He’s been trying to get into, I have to say, think he’s a horrible director because I haven’t got one,” Rossdale joked.

Rossdale and Stefani were married from 2002 until 2015 and share three sons Kingston, Zuma and Apollo. He told PEOPLE in 2020 about how he hoped to impress his kids with his music.
“I don’t want them to play my records to their friends and say, ‘What happened to my dad?’ ” he said at the time, promoting his album The Kingdom. “I want them to be like, ‘My dad’s on fire.’ They inspire me because I want them to like what I do. They inspire me to be better.”

At the time, Kingston, now 18, was starting to share similar music tastes. “We’re trying all these different bands along with bands from his generation,” Rossdale continued.
“Young kids that are making music now, it’s cool, but I was like, ‘Why don’t we look at the beginning? See where it came from.’ He’s just a joy because when he’s playing guitar, all he wants to do is wear my clothes. He comes out looking better than me, generally.”
He adds, “Basically all three boys, all my kids, they’re just better versions of me. I gave them my strengths.”
