‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star Jeff Garlin walks out of standup show over $800 check

Jeff this!

Jeff Garlin refused to go onstage at a stand-up show he was booked to perform at last week, Page Six hears — because organizers wouldn’t pay him in good old greenbacks.

Page Six is told that the “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star and veteran comedian, 62, agreed to headline a comedy dinner at the Calabasas Country Club in Southern California for $800 in cash.

But when he arrived at the tony venue on Thursday evening, the folks behind the booking had a check for him, rather than cold hard bills.

So he balked.

“The crowd was pissed,” an insider said of the well-heeled locals of the famously luxe LA suburb.

“Most of them had come to see Jeff.”

We’re told there were about 40 people in the audience for the regular comedy night, which appears on the country club’s schedule amid bingo nights and a Father’s Day brunch.

Garlin’s diva moment is rather unexpected.

For one thing, it’s surprising that he’d be sweating $800 in the first place.

Not only did Garlin appear on all 12 seasons of the HBO hit “Curb” as Larry David’s best friend and manager, Jeff Greene, but he was also the lead on 10 seasons of ABC’s “The Goldbergs,” not to mention being something of a Disney darling, with roles in “Cars 2,” the 2010 and 2019 “Toy Story” sequels and “WALL-E”.

So it seems unlikely he’s short of a buck.

But an insider said it’s probably not really about the money.

“Jeff can be a very neurotic guy,” said a source.

“He can get hung up on things.”

While Garlin’s best known as a comic actor, he’s a stand-up first and foremost.

He launched his stage career in his native Chicago in the 1980s and was a member of the famous Second City comedy troupe at the same time as now-boldface names such as Steve Carell and Stephen Colbert.

Reps for Garlin didn’t get back to us.
