Chrissy Teigen, John Legend Sing to the Ashes of Their Dog in Valentine’s Day Video

John Legend has a new musical collaborator: his wife Chrissy Teigen!
The couple shared a light-hearted Valentine’s Day duet on Instagram on Friday, Feb. 14, in which they serenade their pets — including the ashes of their late dog Penny — to the classic song “L-O-V-E.”
The video begins with Legend, 46, decked out in head-to-toe pink, and Teigen, 39, in red lingerie. Petey, their large poodle, lounges across their laps. Each verse of the song then cuts to the couple holding a different family pet — as well as a new wardrobe change from Teigen with each successive shot.
One of the verses then culminates with the pair singing to a small wooden box, which Legend eventually reveals contains the ashes of Penny, who died last month.
Teigen shared that Penny died peacefully in her sleep on Jan. 25, posting an Instagram tribute to the three-legged French bulldog that same day.
“Our beautiful little tripod queen, penny, passed on peacefully in her sleep today. Born the same day John and I got married, 11 years ago, she was there for us for every baby, every loss, every joy. She loved nothing more than being loved, having her nub rubbed and destroying any ball she could get her paw on, even til her last weeks,” her post began.
“Never forget that while every pup is just a few chapters in your long life, for them you are their entire book, their entire lives. Oh penny. We were so beyond lucky to have you,” the Cravings by Chrissy founder continued.

Teigen and Legend adopted Penny in 2011 after rescuing her from an abusive situation, with Teigen telling PEOPLE at the time that they were “so excited to welcome her to the family.”
The couple further celebrated their love of their furry friends with Kismet, a pet food brand launched in March 2024. At the time, the couple — who worked with a board-certified nutritionist to develop the kibble formula — told PEOPLE that the project was a natural fit for their passions and values.
“We’ve been pet parents for so long, and this is so core to who we are, and to the way our house is, and just who we are as people that we felt like, ‘Let’s do this one together,’ ” Legend said.
“Our children eat so well,” Teigen added. “It’s important for our kids to eat clean and well and feel nourished and fulfilled, but also to get the nutrients they need all the time. And our dogs are just as important as that.”
