Chris Kirk was conceived in Tennessee in 1985. Gary and Kim Kirk are his parents, and he is their son. His upbringing took place at Woodstock, which is located in Georgia. At the University of Georgia in Athens, where he attended college and played golf, he was a part of the school’s 2005 NCAA championship golf team.
Kirk competed for the United States in both the Eisenhower Trophy in 2006, where he tied for second place in individual scoring, and the Walker Cup in 2007 when he finished in third place. As a graduating senior in 2007, he was an outstanding candidate for the Ben Hogan Award.

Professional Career
After competing in the 2007 Walker Cup, Chris Kirk made the decision to turn professional right away. Beginning in 2008 and continuing through 2010, he was a regular participant on the Nationwide Tour.
In 2008, he competed in the Knoxville Open and finished in second place after losing in a playoff to Jarrod Lyle. 2010 was a highly productive year for Kirk in terms of his baseball career. Both of these results came early in the season.
In June of 2010, Kirk earned his first title on the Nationwide Tour at the Fort Smith Classic. He then went on to win his second title at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open in August of that same year.
Despite suffering a wrist injury toward the conclusion of the season, Kirk managed to win his spot on the 2011 PGA Tour by finishing the season in second place on the money list for the Nationwide Tour.
Later that year, Kirk won The Open. He beat George McNeill and Tom Pernice Jr. by one stroke. Kirk won his 2012 PGA Tour card by finishing 42nd in the FedEx Cup standings in 2011. His best finish was fourth in the RBC Canadian Open.
Kirk won his first Masters Tournament with this win. Kirk’s first tour win was in the Viking Classic, a non-Masters event. Kirk’s first tour win was the non-Masters Viking Classic. Chris Kirk won the Deutsche Bank Championship in Boston to lead the FedEx Cup.
