Early Life of Bart Millard

On December 1, 1972, Bart Millard was born in Greenville, Texas, to Bart and Linda Millard.

Millard aspired to be a football player during his high school years, and ambition came to a stop when he sustained injuries to both ankles during a high school football game. In the aftermath of his accident, Millard decided to enroll in a choir as an elective.

In 1991, during Bart’s first year of college, Arthur Wesley Millard Jr. died, leaving behind a son and a father. His youth pastor encouraged him to join the church’s youth group praise band, which he gladly accepted.

Miller accepted the position and began working with the group’s video and audio systems. James (Jim) Bryson was the pianist for that band, and he subsequently began to perform with Bart Millard and the praise band while on a trip to Switzerland with the group.

Millard was ultimately motivated to pursue a full-time musical career as a result of the journey. MercyMe was founded by Millard and two of his friends, James Bryson and Michael John Scheuchzer, who relocated to Oklahoma City to start the organization.

Since then, the band has released six independent, nine studio, two exclusives, two Christmas, one compilation album, two Christmas singles, and one compilation album.

Bart Millard is Arthur Wesley Millard Jr. and Adele Millard and the youngest of their three children. His parents, on the other hand, are no longer together.

His father passed away in 1991, and shortly after, he received an invitation from his pastor to join the church’s praise band. Bart Millard decided to work for the band on the condition of anonymity.

In reality, he worked with the band’s audio and visual equipment throughout their performances. To be more precise, he accompanied James Bryson on vacation to Switzerland, where he performed on the piano alongside the latter.

He gained the motivation he needed to pursue a long-term musical career as a result of this trip. Then he and his two buddies moved to Oklahoma City, where he has been since.

The two of them then formed a band called MercyMe, with whom they recorded several studio albums. Millard pledged his grandmother that he would record hymns, for which he recorded Hymned No. 1, which was later published.
